NEVADA DESERT EXPERIENCE – WHO WE ARE
Nevada Desert Experience is an interfaith anti-nuclear organization
founded by Franciscans in 1981. The mission of NDE is to stop nuclear
weapons testing through a campaign of prayer, education, dialogue, and
nonviolent direct action. NDE mobilizes people of faith to work toward
nuclear abolition and nonviolent social change. We are committed to
providing support for communal and personal renewal in the desert
tradition. Our immediate attention focuses on ending sub-critical
tests and other war-making preparations at the Nevada Test Site and
preventing the return of full scale nuclear testing.

JOB DESCRIPTION
-20 hours/week (negotiable)
-focus on fundraising (grant writing and phone banking)
-help speak to groups about NDE and facilitate workshops with youth
-outreach with diverse religious groups for our Sacred Week Peacewalk
-help lead our spring events in Las Vegas (three weekends and one week
during March and April, food and housing provided)

REQUIREMENTS
-able to work in Berkeley or Las Vegas
-college graduate or current college student
-experienced with or interested in nonviolence
-comfortable with religion and spirituality

COMPENSATION
-$12/hr (negotiable), with health stipend available
-free housing available in Las Vegas at our St. Francis Community house
